Arsene Wenger is looking to take advantage of this closing stage of the transfer window to seal deal for one of his target.
According to report,
Arsenal scouts were in Porto on Saturday to watch midfielder Danilo Pereira play against Rio Ave, according to A Bola.
The Portuguese newspaper say the Gunners are closely following the Portuguese international.
The 25-year-old started for Porto in the 4-2 win, scoring only his second goal of the season in the process. Due to his age, and the fact his contract still has three and half years to run, signing the midfield enforcer won’t come cheap. The player, who has 17 caps for Portugal, is believed to have a release clause of €40 million or around £34 million.
After Granit Xhaka’s latest sending off against Burnley yesterday however, manager Arsene Wenger may be looking for options in the middle of the park. Xhaka and Francis Coquelin are currently the only two recognised central midfielders fit with Santi Cazorla injured and Jack Wilshere on loan at Bournemouth.
The England international has again been linked with a move away from the Emirates in recent days after it was revealed the Gunners have not yet opened contract talks with the player. His contract expires in 18 months time.
