ARSENAL are reportedly willing to sell defender Shkodran Mustafi before deadline day
Mustafi joined Arsenal last summer from Valencia in a £35million deal and starred alongside Laurent Koscielny in the heart of defence.
He was limited to just 26 Premier League appearances due to injury but did help the Gunners to FA Cup glory in his first season.
And according to the Daily Star, the Germany international could be on his way out of the Emirates after just one year at the club.
The 25-year-old centre-back has reportedly struggled to bond with some of this team-mates and Arsenal are willing to let him go.
The Gunners are said to have already turned down a loan offer from Inter Milan as they want to recoup the £35m they paid for him.
But Arsene Wenger is only open to his sale should he find a suitable replacement before the summer window shuts.
Arsenal last week sold Gabriel to Valencia, leaving just Koscielny, Mustafi, Rob Holding and Per Mertesacker as natural centre-backs.
And in the 1-0 defeat to Stoke on Saturady Wenger used left-backs Nacho Monreal and Sead Kolasinac in a back-three.
Mustafi recently admitted he nearly snubbed a move to Arsenal after his nightmare spell at Premier League rivals Everton.
“To be honest at the beginning I thought I was done with England,” Mustafi said.
“It was really frustrating and probably the worst time I had as a footballer. I didn’t want to go there again.
“But then when it came down to making a decision to stay or leave, I thought I would only leave Valencia if I had the opportunity to go to England.
“I was thankful that I had another opportunity to make a step forward by coming to Arsenal.
“For the rest of my life, I don’t want to be patient anymore.”
