Arsenal have reportedly been given the green light to finally sign Riyad Mahrez with Leicester now willing to sell the forward in the January window.
The Metro say the Premier League title winner will be sold if Leicester receive a substantial offer.
Mahrez has rediscovered his form this season under Claude Puel scoring seven and assisting seven so far.
Last summer, Arsene Wenger denied having interest in signing the Algerian, with the Frenchman electing to maintain Alexis Sanchez’s services.
Sanchez was the subject of a £60m bid from Manchester City last summer, and with the Gabriel Jesus sidelined for two months, it’s suggested that the Citizens will return for the Chilean in this window.
It’s opened the door for Mahrez to seal his big move to a top six Premier League club.
Roma failed with a £32m bid for the 26-year-old in the summer, with Leicester at the time holding out for closer to £40m for their star attacker.
