Arsenal are going well in the Premier League, but with so many quality sides around them – it is surely going to be difficult for the Gunners.
In truth, many of the fans in the Tavern feel that more quality is needed in order for their side to challenge for the title – and Arsene Wenger is, seemingly, in agreement.
Arsenal are tracking Porto midfielder Danilo, with Arsene Wenger seemingly keen to improve his options in the middle of the park. The midfielder reportedly has a €40 million (£34.8 million) release clause in his contract, and considering that he has a contract lasting until 2020 – the Gunners will likely have to get near that number to get a deal complete.
Whilst any move for Danilo is in the early stages, with there no evidence that a move is imminent for the Gunners, the Arsenal fans in the Transfer Tavern are impressed that Wenger is targeting him – with midfield reinforcement the top priority for many in the pub.
Currently playing for Porto, Danilo has made 15 league appearances so far this season – and has become a vital part of the setup in the Portuguese top flight. A defensive midfielder by trade, Danilo is excellent at breaking up play and ensuring that his side doesn’t concede.
Scorer of 2 goals this season, the defensive midfielder’s qualities are not limited by his deeper position – with his passing and forward movement also vital to his playstyle.
