I don’t think there are many Arsenal fans out there who will be sad to see Theo Walcott leave Arsenal this summer, but if reports in the media today are to be believed, Arsenal fans world wide may have to endure seeing the Englishman go missing in games for yet another season.
However, Wenger is working hard to ensure he brings in a player who is better than Walcott. According to reports, Arsenal and Leicester City recently met to have discussion on the potential transfer of Riyad Mahrez to Arsenal this summer.
The Algerian was one of the best players in the Premier league in the just concluded season. His performance earned him the player of the year award and should Arsenal manage to sign him, he will be a wonderful addition to the curren Arsenal team. Arsenal are keen on signing the Algerian according to Italian journalist Emanuele Giulianelli.
Giulianelli tweeted yesterday: “Arsenal and Leicester new meeting for Mahrez. Ranieri has asked about Walcott, but the player is not interested.”
It will make a lot of sense if Arsenal can get rid of Theo Walcott, a player who earns £140,000 a week but delivers nothing and bring in Mahrez in exchange.
