Arsenal have not given up hope of signing Thomas Lemar and will reportedly try to sign him again the January transfer window.
Lemar was on the verge of joining in the closing stages of the summer window only for the deal to fall through at the last minute.
The Gunners were prepared to pay as much as £90million to bring him to the Emirates but Alexis Sanchez’s failed move to Manchester City meant Arsenal pulled the plug.
Sanchez and Mesut Ozil are expected to leave Arsenal in the New Year with their contract situation yet to be resolved and the club risk losing them for a free at the end of the season.
If they are able to sell both players in January then that will leave plenty of cash for Arsene Wenger to reinvest in his squad.
And the Daily Mail claim Arsenal will try again with their attempts to lure Lemar to the Emirates but it is reported they will NOT offer as much as the £90m they did in the summer.
The fee was inflated because of the amount of money Arsenal would have received had City secured the services of Sanchez with a huge money offer.
