With the January transfer window already coming close, clubs have already begun searching for players that would reinforce their team.
Arsenal captain Per Mertesacker has revealed that he is unsure of his future with the club as he looks to listen to offers.
The Captain of Bundesliga side Werder Bremen, Clemens Fritz is in talks with Per Mertesacker and he has urged the BFG to make the switch, per reports.
Mertesacker has just one year left on his contract and would return from injury as a fringe player. He’ll be free to make pre-contractual agreements with European clubs from January.
“We’ve talked about it [a return to Bremen]. It would be a good thing for the club,” Fritz told German newspaper.
Arsenal signed Shkdran Mustafi from Valencia in the summer and the 24-year-old German has cemented his place with his pair Laurent Koscielny at the heart of Arsenal’s defense.
Arsene Wenger also has the likes of Laurent Koscielny and Gabriel Paulista to select from at the heart of his side’s defence, while youngster Rob Holding was signed from Bolton Wanderers in the summer.
