Probably because of Arsene Wenger’s antics in the transfer market, we are linked with so many players when ever the transfer window is open.
According to reports, we have been joined by Liverpool in the chase of Rennes versatile winger Paul-Georges Ntep.
The 24-year-old, who’s out of contract at the end of the season (though some say 2016), has assisted four goals in nine Ligue 1 appearances this season and is highly rated. Although it appears that Arsenal, Liverpool and, at one point, the Saints, are the only teams really interested in securing him.
Our interest in the player is new and shocking, given the fact that Wenger has a plethora of options on the wing. Alhough, it is believed that Rennes would offer him an improved contract.
“Today, nothing is signed,” Ntep said back in October..
“I have not been heeded because I leave that to my agent and I do not mind.
“But it does not make me worry.
“If I have to continue [at Rennes], I will extend my contract.
“If I have to leave in January, I will leave in January.”
Ntep can play on either wing and although he prefers it on the left, this could be useful at Arsenal.
It’s interesting to note that Joel Campbell, who’s currently On loan with Sporting, also plays on the left and just so happens to be the same age. The Costa Rican has really struggled to get game time since joining Arsenal (when he’s not been on loan) so it does appear that Arsene Wenger could be willing to say goodbye.
