Arsenal legend Martin Keown has believes Unai Emery must keep Jack Wilshere and Aaron Ramsey at the Emirates, according to the Daily Star.
There have been speculations that the midfield duo will be leaving the club this summer as they are both delaying in extending their contracts which expire at the end of this season and the next season respectively.
Keown is concerned at how many players have left the club this season and doesn’t think it’ll be wise to let them leave also. “I cannot remember another season when so many players have left Arsenal.
“Oxlade-Chamberlain, Walcott, Coquelin, Giroud, Gabriel and Gibbs have all left in the last 12 months.
“Given so many have been allowed to leave, Arsenal have to keep hold of Jack Wilshere and Aaron Ramsey.”
Emery was appointed Arsenal’s manager last week, replacing Arsene Wenger who left the club at the end of the season following a disappointing campaign where the Gunners ended in sixth position, a massive 37 points behind winners Manchester City.
Emery has indicated he will give every player in the squad a clean slate to impress, and he already has a good idea of how to improve each player.
