Arsene Wenger seem to have woken up from his transfer market slumber that has seen him completed two deal within last week and probably going for a third.
According to reports, Arsenal are closing in on the signature of Paraguay born attacking midfielder Miguel Almiron, who laces his boots for Lanus in Argentina.
TuttoMercatoWeb report in an exclusive that Arsenal are looking into spending €13 million (£11.1 million) on the player before the transfer window closes – this is despite Arsene Wenger’s claim that he will not be signing any more players.
This closing stages of the transfer market has seen Arsenal become more pragmatic in the transfer market than their rival clubs. Arsenal have agreed deals with La Liga outfits for Lucas Perez and Shkodran Musatfi. The Italian publication says Wenger is keen on completing a deal for the highly rated midfielder.
Arsenal are said to have tabled a £9.4m bid and negotiations are continuing with Lanus hoping to receive £11.1m for the attacking midfielder.
Almiron, 22, joined Argentinian side Lanus last summer from Paraguayan outfit Club Cerro Porteno where he had come through the youth set-up before breaking into the first team in 2013.
