Arsene Wenger is plotting a move for out-of-favour Real Madrid ace Dani Ceballos as he prepares for life without Aaron Ramsey and Jack Wilshere, reports in Spain claim. The French tactician’s future at the Emirates may be unclear but he has flagged his interest in the Spaniard to Arsenal chiefs in the hope of signing the former Real Betis man this summer. Arsenal are in danger of losing Wilshere on a free transfer at the end of the season, with the England international’s current deal set to expire.
Ramsey’s contract expires at the end of the 2018/19 campaign but the club are considering cashing in on the Wales international, with Manchester United readying a £35million bid. With Arsenal set to lose two central midfielders, Wenger is keen to add another to his squad and views Ceballos as an interesting option, according to El Confidencial. The former Real Betis man has started just two games in La Liga this season, scoring twice, and has completed 90 minutes just once in all competitions.
Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane is willing to let him leave the club and a host of teams around Europe are now keen to bring him on board, including Arsenal. The Gunners are thought to face competition from Premier League rivals Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur as well as Serie A champions Juventus.
