Arsenal boss Unai Emery is planning on holding serious talks with Jack Wilshere and Aaron Ramsey next week, to sort out their futures with the club, or elsewhere.
This report is according to The Sun, who claim that Emery wants to speak to both players personally, to convince them to commit their futures to Arsenal.
The report according to the Sun backs up other sources reporting Emery wants to tie Ramsey down long-term, and build the team around him. It seems he’s now also hoping to hold onto Wilshere too.
Ramsey’s contract expires in 2019, which suggests the urgency to get a deal done. However, if he decides not to extend, Arsenal might want to cash in this summer. They can only do so by sorting out his future before the World Cup begins.
Wilshere’s situation is even more urgent. It’s now less than a month until his contract with Arsenal expires, and he can already speak to any club he wants about a free transfer when that happens. We’re getting to the now-or-never stage for his career in North London.
Hopefully we should get some closure on both players in the next week or so.
Gooners, would you rather Arsenal keep both players under Emery or he keeps one and sell the other to bring in new faces at the Emirates?
