Arsenal have been a handed a massive boost in the quest to land Inter Milan front man Mauro Icardi following a statement issued by the club’s president.
Arsenal have been on the player chase since the winter transfer market of this year and we are reportedly interested this season. However, no deal has been signed by either clubs for the player’s transfer to Arsenal.
Nonetheless, there seems to be light at the head of the tunnel for Arsenal with recent report claiming that the Inter Milan president Erick Thohir has admitted that the club captain and star striker Mauro Icardi could be facing the exit door at San Siro this summer.
As reported by the Daily Star, Thohir refused to dismiss the possibility of the forward leaving the Stadio Sao Paolo soon. When quizzed about the player, he said:
“We are all hoping to receive an even better offer,” he told Class CNBC when asked if he had rejected a bid this week.”
“At this time Mauro is an important player for us, he is our captain. However, it is a dynamic market.”
Wenger had revealed that he is looking for potent options in attack and he will try to sign before the close of the market. This follows from the long-term injury of Danny Welbeck.
