I am sure a lot of the fans of Arsenal would be wishing they wake up this day to the realize the transfer window is closed with Riyad Mahrez, Aleksandre Lacazette and Shkodran Mustafi, all signed for Arsenal.
Sadly, the reality is that Arsenal are yet to get off the transfer market. However, reports making the rounds this morning claims Arsenal have made a £40 million bid for Leicester City star Riyad Mahrez, this report is contrary to reports that the player will stay put at the Kingpower Stadium this season.
Two days ago, French sports journalist Gilles Favard claimed Arsenal went back with a £35m bid for Mahrez after the Premier League champions rebuffed £30million.
This morning, same journalist is peddling reports that Arsenal have gone back a £40m bid for the player.

We cannot asecertain the veracity of the report but we know that Arsenal are in the market for attacker. Mahrez would perfectly fit the bill for Arsenal.
An attacking trident of Alexis Sanchez, Mesut Ozil and Mahrez would be one of the best trios in European football but it appears that there is a lot of work to do to make the Leicester star a new Gunner before the end of August.
