Arsenal have reportedly told La Liga clubs they can sign out-of-favour forward Lucas Perez for just a £13million transfer fee this summer.
The Spaniard is eager to play regularly ahead of next year’s World Cup finals in Russia, but has struggled for playing time in his single season at the Emirates Stadium.
Perez joined Arsenal from Deportivo La Coruna just over a year ago, and is thought to prefer a move back to his old club, though they are unlikely to be able to afford him.
This could see Perez wind up at Valencia, Sevilla or Villarreal after Arsenal’s decision to make a £4million loss on their £17million signing, according to the Independent.
The 28-year-old managed seven goals and two assists in limited appearances for Arsene Wenger’s side, showing some potential despite clearly failing to win over the Gunners manager.
Perez almost joined Everton before ending up at Arsenal last summer, and it is claimed that the Toffees remain interested in him even if his preference is for a move back to Spain.
West Ham have also been linked with an attempt to keep Perez in England in recent times.
