With the few hours left for the close of the window, there will be rush and surprises in the market as clubs make move to reinforce their squad.
According to reports emanating from Germany and England, Arsenal star Serge Gnabry is close to sealing a deal for Bundesliga giant Werder Bremen. The youngster ended the Olympic tournament as one of the stars and saw him drew attraction from various European clubs.
The player, who has one year left on his contract, has been linked with several clubs in the Bundesliga but Arsenal were understood to have offered him an improved contract.
However, it doesn’t look like that’s the case. Sky Germany say he’s off to Bayern Munich, who will in turn then loan the player to Werder Bremen. Sky have shared the news via Twitter.
However it seem he is on his way to Bremen as confirmed Frank Baumann who said the player is heading towards his direction.
“With the player we have an agreement and we’re confident the move will take place.
“We spoke with the player and his father four years ago [before he moved to Arsenal] and at that time it didn’t work out.
“If the deal for Gnabry doesn’t go through, we’ll not be looking at other players.
“We know about Serge Gnabry, Per Mertesacker was full of praise.
“We have basically reached an agreement with Arsenal, but it is not yet signed.”
“Everything should be finalised by midday tomorrow.”
There had been suggestions that Arsenal would sell Gnabry to Bavarian giants Bayern Munich and they would in turn loan the player to Bremen.
Baumann added: “Bayern are irrelevant, we want to buy him.”
We’ll wait on confirmation to see if it plays out that way or not.
