It seems as though every time there is an update made on Wojciech Szczesny, little development has actually been made on the goalkeeper’s future and whether he’ll remain in Italy with the Serie A champions ahead of the new campaign.
As we reported earlier this week, Juve’s chance of signing Szczesny was mainly attached to whether or not they offloaded current second-choice goalkeeper, Neto.
He’s now on the verge of a move to La Liga side Valencia and as they’re set to earn around €7m from the deal, a move for Szczesny is once again on the cards.
Italian newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport explained on Friday that the Gunners’ €15m demands are still seen as too excessive by Juve’s club hierarchy, though there is still an 80% chance of completing a deal.
They’re confident that they can knock Szczesny’s price down, which is understandable as he’s only got a year left on his existing deal at the Emirates and uncertainty continues to surround whether he’ll be first or second-choice at present with Petr Cech still at Arsenal.
