Juventus have set a price for ex-Chelsea winger Juan Cuadrado, according to reports in Italy.
Further to the previous links we reported between Arsenal and Juan Cuadrado, Juventus have apparently told the Gunners that the Colombian is for sale for £31m.
This latest information comes from Gazzetta Dello Sport via an article on TribalFootball.com. They claim that Juventus are looking to replace Cuadrado with Fiorentina winger Federico Bernardeschi and that Arsenal have been in contact making enquiries.
The interest in Thomas Lemar still seems like the most likely avenue for the Gunners to pursue, with previous bids confirmed by the reliable David Ornstein. So for the Gunners to spend over £30m for a 29-year-old with 13-goal contributions in 45 matches last season would be far from the norm.
Arsenal do seem to have made some changes in approach in the past month, with ex-players being brought back into the mix, the club’s transfer record being broken and the refusal to budge on players with expiring contracts.
But although this could mean that the emphasis shifts to bringing in experience to help guarantee short-term success, at this stage there’s still insufficient evidence that the Cuadrado talk is anything more than rumours.
