Arsenal has received yet another blow in their attempt to strengthen their squad, as another Arsenal transfer target Kieran Tierney has officially signed a new five-year deal with Scottish Premiership champions Celtic.
The North Londoners have been in the market shopping for host of full-backs like Celtic defender Tierney and Leicester City ace Ben Chilwell, but both Leicester and Celtic refused to let their players to make Arsenal move.
Since the Gunners expressed interest in signing the Scottish starlet, Celtic had slapped a £10 million price-tag on the full back, to fend off interest from Premier League suitors.
Kieran, who won the Scottish Young Player of the Year, was widely tipped for a move to Arsenal, having renewed his contract; the player is now being contracted to Celtic until 2021.
During an interview to Celts official website, Tierney confirmed that he will remain at Parkhead : “There was no thought of leaving. Last year was a breakthrough so I need to prove myself again.
“The manager spoke to me on the first day of training, and I’ve signed now. He didn’t have to persuade me.”
The 19-year old defender, last season, was one of the key performers for celtic.
