The summer transfer market of 2016 will be shut in a month’s time and the long-term transfer injury to Danny Welbeck means Oliver Giroud will be the only out-and-out striker at Arsenal if Wenger fails to sign another forward man.
Fully aware of this situation, Wenger headed to Lyon in a bid to sign Aleksandre Lacazette but the Gunners bid of about 30million Pounds was rebuffed for the striker.
It is now being reported by Skysports that the Gunners will make an improved offer for the French striker and they believe the French Outfit will not resist an improvement over the first bid.
Although, the president of Lyon Jean-Michel Aulas had dismissed the possibility of allowing the player leave but the player is valued at 40million Pounds and will certainly be left off the radar of Lyon if Arsenal meets this valuation.
Lacazette, who has scored 48 league goals over the past two seasons, signed a new four-year contract to remain at Lyon only last August.
