The countdown to the close of this year’s transfer window has begun. We have 10 days left but it is enough to strengthen any squad.
According to reports, Arsenal have been dealt a huge blow in their pursuit of Argentina international Mauro Icardi of Inter Milan with the reports claiming that the 23-year-old goal poacher favors staying put at the San Siro than making a move to the Emirates.
Reports have suggested the 23-year-old’s new contract will run until the summer of 2021 and include a release clause of around 100m euros, which will only be available to foreign clubs.

He wrote on both Twitter and Instagram: “New objectives, but always with the same love for this shirt for three years.. And for many more…”
Arsenal were hugely linked with a move for the player after seeing bids for Aleksandre Lacazette rebuffed.
Icardi, who scored 16 goals in 29 appearances last campaign, will earn 4.5m euros per-season, which is not including performance-related bonuses.
He also has a £95m release clause in the new contract, which will effectively deter Arsenal and co for at least another few seasons.
