As typical with Arsenal, the opening of the transfer window saw us linked to almost all the available strikers in the world but we have been unable to to wrap up any deal for the targets hitherto.
The Gunners reportedly wanted Jamie Vardy but the player chose to stay put at the King Power Stadium, we saw Gonzalo Higuain moved to Juventus and the reported deal for Lacazette aborted.
According to latest reports, Watford City striker Odion Ighalo has put pen to paper for an improved five-year deal, bringing an end to questions over his future and Arsenal reported interest in the player.
Ighalo, 27, hit 17 goals for the newly-promoted Hornets last season to attract interest from the likes of Arsenal and West Bromwich Albion as well as a £38million offer from China’s Shanghai SIPG.

We currently have dearth of top strikers as only Giroud is a quality striker there, that means there is space for a new top man. At Arsenal, he won’t struggle to get regular first team football.
For me, the Nigerian international is a good player but not the top-notch striker that can thick our box. However, Wenger must haste to fulfill his promise of adding another striker to our rank.
