Arsenal are reportedly one of three clubs ready to pounce on Athletic Bilbao goalkeeper, Kepa Arrizabalaga.

22-year-old Arrizabalaga, who’s been compared to Manchester United’s David de Gea, is reportedlydemanding a pay rise and has turned down Bilbao’s offer of a four-year deal because they weren’t willing to give it.

Apparently, the young goalkeeper wants £1.9m a year, which is around £36,538-a-week.

The up and coming Spanish youth international has under a year left on his current deal, which means that he can sign a pre-contract agreement with a club outside of Spain in January.

Arsenal have been linked with the shot-stopper, presumably because we practically have no goalkeepers left and both Petr Cech and David Ospina’s deals run out in 2019.

We foolishly let Wojciech Szczesny sign for Juventus in the summer as well, so investing in another pair or safe hands could be a good move.

However, Arsenal reportedly face competition in the form of Real Madrid and Napoli.

Arrizabalaga has already played five games for Bilbao this season, keeping two clean sheets, and the La Liga club are apparently desperate to keep hold of him.

As far as wages are concerned, Arsenal already reportedly pay Ospina £40k-per-week so presumably they wouldn’t be an issue. However, that’s not up to me… obviously. Since if I was I wouldn’t have sold Woj in the first place. Yes, I will always been bitter about that.
