Arsenal are reportedly considering the possibility of signing Torino forward, M’Baye Niang.
The Senegalese star shone for his country at the 2018 World Cup and has never hidden his intention of getting a big move.
The player was once linked with a transfer to Arsenal when he was at AC Milan, though a deal failed to materialize at that point. However, it seems we could be set to make a bid of around £17.5m for the player.
The likes of Nice, Marseille, Monaco and Everton have been linked to Niang, though given our stature in the footballing world and relative financial clout, a promise of first team football should see us trump the other clubs in the race for his signature.
The 23-year-old joined Torino last summer on loan from AC Milan with an obligation to buy set at £17.5m though the Serie A outfit may be looking to cash in on him.
Italian media Tuttomercatoweb (h/t TeamTalk) report that with the possibility of missing out on Boca Juniors sensation, Cristian Pavon, Unai Emery has shifted his attention to signing the 6ft 1in player. Niang is a player that has always been known for his talent but didn’t have the right application to reach the top. After breaking out at Milan, he was tipped to become a full French international but lost his way with his love for the nightlife and pleasures.
At Torino, he has worked hard to rebuild his reputation and was very good last term, scoring 4 goals in 26 matches. He played for Watford in the second half of the 2016/17 campaign, but struggled to adapt, scoring twice in 16 matches. At nearly £18m, he would be a bargain only if he is ready to cut out excesses from his game and be the player his potential suggested when he made his professional debut at the age of 16 with Caen.
