Arsenal youngster Chris Willock has signed for Portuguese giants Benfica, it has been confirmed.
The 19-year-old wide-attacker has put pen-to-paper on a five-year contract, and he arrives following the end of his Gunners deal.
This confirmation comes after Goal correspondent Chris Wheatley claimed the deal was all but done on Friday evening.
The pacey attacker joined the North Londoners when he was just five-years-old, and he has since risen through the various age group ranks.
He was granted with few chances to impress in the first team at Arsenal, and he featured for the senior side on only two occasions, both times as a substitute in last season’s EFL Cup.
The 19-year-old was one of the Arsenal Under-23s top performers last term, and he played 19 appearances across all competitions, which yielded three goals and eight assists.
The Englishman is primarily a left-sided winger, but he is also comfortable on the right and in attacking midfield.
Benfica cruised to the title last term, and they also reached the last-16 stage of the Champions League, at which point they were knocked out by Borussia Dortmund.
Willock has been capped by England Under-19s on 10 occasions, and he has scored three goals.
