ARSENAL sent scouts to watch Napoli duo Kalidou Koulibaly and Lorenzo Insigne in acton this week, according to reports in Italy.
Arsenal have splashed the cash over the last two transfer windows, spending in excess of £100million on Alexandre Lacazette and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
The Gunners also added Henrikh Mkhitaryan to their ranks in January in a swap deal with Manchester United – with Alexis Sanchez going the other way.
And the north London club are not finished there, with reports in Italy suggesting Arsene Wenger has set his sights on Napoli duo Kalidou Koulibaly and Lorenzo Insigne.
CalcioMercato claim Arsenal sent scouts to watch the pair in action this week against RB Leipzig in the Europa League.
Leipzig forward Timo Werner is also said to have turned heads in the match, scoring twice as the German side ran out 3-1 winners.
However, CalcioMercato claim the Gunners will face a tough battle with Atletico Madrid for his signature who have been tracking him for some time.
Speaking earlier this month, Wenger admitted he regretted not signing defender in the January transfer market.
“Yes, because our defensive numbers are not good enough and that’s where we needed some possible strengthening as well,” he said.
“I believe we have to find an internal solution to our defensive problems, and that means everyone putting more effort in.”
