Arsenal are trying to sign Chelsea and Senegal international Demba Ba on a season long loan deal according to various reports. Although the reports claim Demba Ba will only be signed if Arsenal fail in their attempt to sign other key targets. Wayne Rooney, Abdel Hernandez of Palermo, Jackson Martinez, Michu among others are players the gunners have their sights fixated on.
Ba was just last January close to joining Arsenal before he joined Chelsea. Wenger was quoted as saying he decided against signing Ba then due to the obvious similarities between Ba and Arsenal’s Olivier Giroud. Ba joined Chelsea from Newcastle United for around 8 million pounds but he hasn’t done much ever since and has since fallen down the pecking order at Chelsea with Torres and Lukaku ahead of him. His first team chances will further reduce as Chelsea complete the signing of Samuel Eto’o Fils from Russian side Anzhi.
With just less than 16 hours till the end of the transfer window, I will not be surprise if Arsenal end up signing Ba on a season long loan deal instead of the marquee striker we were promised at the beginning of the current summer transfer window.
