Arsenal’s have been alerted to the possibility of landing their long-term transfer target Jese Rodriguez from Real Madrid – this follows from a report according to the Marca that Rodriguez has been permitted to move to another club in furtherance of his career.
The 23-year-old striker was somewhat a fringe player for the UCL holders last season and the emergence of Alvaro Morata from his loan spell at Juventus means Rodriguez will spend more time on the bench. Hence, it will make sense to move to another club.
Arsenal were reportedly interested in the players signature in the summer of last season but they failed to sign him – with their futile search for a prolific striker thus far, Wenger may consider a bid for the Spaniard. However, they are not left alone in the player’s chase. Liverpool are understood to be interested too.
Following the rejection of Arsenal’s bid for Lacazette, their only realistic chance at a striker might be Jese Rodriguez. He was preferred over Fernando Torres during the just concluded European Championship, which means he is highly rated and might provide competition for Giroud up front.
