If the transfer window shuts at the end of this month and Wenger fails to sign a defender, the club might find it unsually tough to end as the top-four of the Premier League.

Wenger has revealed that he is open to signing defensive reinforce and the London club has been linked yet again to Brazil born Torino right-back Bruno Peres and a deal worth €16 million is reportedly offered.

The 26-year-old has been a revelation for the Granata since moving to the club from Santos in 2014, with his pace and dribbling skills marking him out as one of Serie A’s most exciting players.

Although, Mathieu Debuchy is still a Gunner but the player is dissatisfied with being a fringe player. He is expected to move to another club before the close of the window.

The Gunners boss Arsene Wenger already had scouts out in force last week to watch Peres’ performance against Benfica in a friendly match, and reports came back that he had impressed enough to convince the English giants to make a more concrete approach.

However, Arsenal’s €16m bid is unlikely to persuade Torino President Urbano Cairo to let one of his most valuable assets leave. Instead he is demanding at least €20m to start negotiations formally, and with Arsenal being notoriously frugal spenders, there are fears they may pull out.
