Arsenal have won their last three games in the Premier League but Liverpool remain in pole position to finish in the top four after beating West Ham United 4-0 away from home yesterday.
It looks highly likely that the Gunners will not be playing Champions League football next season and they will need top signings to bounce back whether or not Wenger is in charge of the club.
As far as the latest transfer news is concerned, Bosnian international Sead Kolasinac is in the limelight again and he is close to joining Arsenal.
Last month, we covered a report (via Daily Mail) who claimed that the North Londoners have agreed personal terms with the player to secure his signature on a free transfer this summer.
Now, according to Raphael Wiesweg, a German football journalist who covers Schalke has claimed that the deal is all but done and the 23-year-old star has signed a five year contract with Arsenal.
Schalke are current 10th in the German league with just one game remaining in the season and Kolasinac has been one of their star players. In the current campaign, the Bosnian star has featured in 36 games (all competitions) and directly contributed in 12 goals (3 goals and 9 assists).
Sead is a versatile star who can be deployed in a number of positions. This season, Schalke have used him in the following positions (Transfermarkt).
- LB – 15
- LM – 17
- CB – 2
- CDM – 1
Wenger has lately used the 3-4-3 formation and we can expect Kolasinac to start as the left wing back in that setup. He will likely replace veteran Nacho Monreal in the starting lineup.
