Arsenal fans have had to endure taunting resulting not only from our trophy drought, but also transfer market drought and the injury rain that has become synonymous with the name of the club.
Arsenal have been handed a massive boost in their pursuit of Shkodran Mustafi with recent reports claiming Valencia are on the search for a replacement for the Arsenal bound defender.
Plaza Deportiva claims Valencia are looking at Raul Albiol who laces his boots for Napoli, and also looking at Deportivo La Coruna’s Sidnei, all lined up as possible replacement for Shkodran.
According to the reports, Arsenal are interested in Mustafi, but are aware a deal would be difficult because Valencia won’t sell for less than €30m, which doesn’t really seem too difficult.
However, the measure taken by Valencia to sign a replacement means they will agree to part with the German if the price is right for him.
Arsenal injury crises have been compounded by the recent nasty injury picked by Gabriel Paulista, leaving the club with no senior centre-back for their first Premier League game.
As it is, Wenger has no choice now than to sign a defender else it wont go well with the fans and the club’s title campaign.
