Arsenal want to sign Lorenzo Pellegrini from Roma this summer, according to Di Marzio.

The Gunners are making plans for next season under new boss Unai Emery and it appears as though Pellegrini is a player who they have identified as a target.

Pellegrini has enjoyed a strong season with Roma and has caught the eye of many across Europe, including Arsenal it seems.

It’s understood by Di Marzio that the Gunners are not willing to activate Pellegrini’s presumably excessive release clause at the Stadio Olimpico, but they do want to land the midfielder from Eusebio Di Francesco’s men this summer.

Emery worked alongside Roma’s sporting director Monchi during the pair’s stint at Sevilla, where they enjoyed immense success together. It’s stated that this could be a key element in conversations over a potential summer deal.

Juventus, however, are also in the race to land the highly-rated Pellegrini from Roma, with Massimiliano Allegri planning to bolster his midfield options.
