Arsene Wenger has claimed Alexis Sanchez’s future could be decided in the next 48 hours.
Sanchez was left out of the match day squad for the defeat to Bournemouth today as his departure from the club moves closer.
Manchester United launched a bid this week to rival Manchester City’s interest.
United are understood to have ramped up their interest with Jose Mourinho setting him a deadline of Friday for him to make a decision.
And they are now confident of doing a deal despite Sanchez having his heart set on joining Pep Guardiola at City.
And Arsenal boss Wenger says a deal could be done in the coming days.
“It could happen today, tomorrow or not at all. I didn’t want to travel with him and then he goes somewhere,” Wenger said.
“It will be decided in the next 48 hours
“It was difficult for him because he was on standby a little bit.”
