Arsenal head of recruitment Sven Mislintat is in regular contact with Barcelona forward Ousmane Dembele, according to reports in France.
Dembele had a frustrating debut season at the Nou Camp after suffering a hamstring injury on his first La Liga start which ruled the 21-year-old out for four months.
The Frenchman returned to action at the beginning of January and went on to score four goals in all competitions for the Catalan giants.
Some reports suggest that Barca are exploring the possibility of sending Dembele out on loan in the summer, with a view to securing more regular game-time for the attacker.
And L’Equipe states that Mislintat, who joined Arsenal’s staff last November, has ‘real closeness and continued contact’ with Dembele.
The pair share a close relationship from their time spent at Borussia Dortmund, but a move to the Emirates remains unlikely. It’s claimed Barca value Ousmane at around €100million (£88m) despite signing the forward for €105m plus €40m in add-ons last summer.
Asked about his future last month, Dembele told Telefoot: ‘I signed a five-year contract at Barcelona. ‘I’m going to be in Barcelona a very long time. I’m not going to leave after a season.
‘I’m not in my best form, but little by little, it’s coming back. I still have to work on my cardio because I get tired very quickly. ‘At Barcelona, I have a better lifestyle. At Dortmund, I didn’t have a great lifestyle and I didn’t get injured, so it’s not that.’
