Arsenal have been eyeing a new goal scorer this summer and it appears that they are willing to break the bank for the attacker, according to the latest reports.
The Gunners secured the signing of Lucas Perez last August to help improve an attack which had been short of goals during the 2015/16 season.
However, the Spaniard has scarcely been in action with Arsene Wenger relying on Alexis Sanchez, who has scored 20 times so far, for goals this season.
Thus, the club appears to have made the acquisition of a new striker one of its priorities after being rejected by the likes of Jamie Vardy and Gonzalo Higuain not too long ago.
According to the Daily Star, Arsenal are expected to make a bold move for Juventus star Paulo Dybala if Massimiliano Allegri does replace Arsene Wenger after this season.
The 23-year-old has been linked with a switch to the Emirates stadium in the past and his ex-coach Gennaro Gattuso has also suggested the player might not be happy at the Serie A club.
“Dybala’s had a different expression on his face for the past four or five weeks,” Gattusso said.
“He looks really frustrated, as if something is on his mind. He doesn’t have a happy face.
“I coached him at Palermo and everybody who knows him knows he’s a very fun-loving lad, which is why this surprises me.”
Nonetheless, Juventus, who signed Dybala from Palermo in the summer of 2015, are believed to be seeking an €85 million fee for the forward.
Therefore, Arsenal’s success in landing the Argentine star would see him move above Mesut Ozil to become the club’s most expensive player ever.
