Arsenal are reportedly having scouts keep an eye on the performances of Benfica winger Andrija Zivkovic at this summer’s European Under-21 Championships.
The 20-year-old attacker was a rumoured target for the Gunners as well as for the likes of Liverpool and Manchester City last year before he left Partizan Belgrade for Benfica.
Zivkovic shone at his previous club with 24 goals in 93 appearances since becoming a regular first-teamer as a teenager, but has struggled since then.
The Serbia international played 23 games in all competitions for Benfica in 2016/17, scoring just one goal and providing three assists.
Still, Record claim Arsenal remain admirers of the youngster with a whopping £52.5million release clause written into his contract.
It seems highly unlikely that Arsenal or any other club would pay that fee at the moment, but it seems Arsene Wenger may still be keen to consider Zivkovic as one to target in the future.
Benfica have a proud record of developing and nurturing top young talent before selling them on at a huge profit, with Victor Lindelof the latest example after recently sealing a £30million move to Manchester United.
Renato Sanches made a similar move when he joined Bayern Munich last summer, and the Portuguese giants will be hoping Zivkovic can improve and follow in their footsteps.
