There is another transfer move still on the cards at Arsenal with deadline day now approaching.
Arsene Wenger has surprised Arsenal fans by making late signings in the past, with Andrey Arshavin’s switch from Zenit St. Petersburg in 2009 arguably the most memorable deal during this time of the year.
However, the Gunners manager appears to be currently prioritising the temporary offloading of fringe players rather than bringing in new additions with three players from the youth ranks already sent out on loan.
According to HITC, Arsenal are in the process of agreeing a deal with Aston Villa which will see Chuba Akpom sent out on loan for the rest of the season.
The young striker returned from an injury lay-off only a few weeks ago but Wenger does not appear to have a place in the first team available for him.
Arsenal’s cooperative relationship with current Villa boss Steve Bruce, who has secured loans of several of the club’s youngsters in the past, is reportedly what makes this deal likely.
Akpom last made an appearance for the Gunners in the 4-0 victory over Nottingham Forest in the League Cup back in September.
