Arsenal are preparing for the Premier League game against Swansea as the boys hope to bounce back for a shocking draw against Bournemouth.
However, Wenger has an eye in the transfer market and reports have indicated that Roma are keen on sealing a permanent deal for Wojciech Szczesny.
This is the goalkeeper’s second loan with the Italian side and his recent form means they do not want him to return to the Emirates. he’s made 20 appearances for the Rome club this term.
Szczesny fell out of favour with Arsene Wenger after some indifferent displays and a smoking incident which saw him lose his place to David Ospina in the second half of the 2014-15 season.
And the arrival of Petr Cech from Chelsea made him fell further down the selection perking order of Arsenal. However, he has been dubbed as a the ideal long term replacement for the ageing Petr Cech and so it is left to be seen if Wenger will agree to Roma’s term.
A fee of around £16m has been mooted, which seems relatively cheap for an international goalkeeper with his best years ahead of him, but this summer he’ll have just 12 months left on his current Arsenal deal so that will certainly play a part.
