Atlanta United would be open to selling Arsenal target Miguel Almiron, president Darren Eales has confirmed.
A host of Premier League clubs have been linked with respective swoops for the playmaker, who has caught the eye of many with some glittering performances in recent months.
Almiron helped Atlanta win the MLS Cup at the weekend as they defeated Portland Timbers in the final.
Eales spoke to Sky Sports in recent times as he was quizzed about the future of his side’s star performer. As quoted by Football London, he admitted that Atlanta could cash in on the player.
However, the club president was insistent that if Almiron is to depart, a sizable transfer fee will need to be coughed up. Eales said:
We have always said that if the right approach comes in – and it has to be the right offer for the player, the league, and most importantly the club – then we would consider it.
I have seen some laughable things in the press, clearly we are never going to loan one of our players out and we are certainly not going to let them go for the ‘chump change’ that I have seen in some reports.
If it’s a proper, serious offer then it’s something we would consider, but not for the laughable figures that I have seen mentioned in the press.
The Paraguay international was a pivotal part of Atlanta’s team as they secured silverware this season. He netted 13 goals from the number 10 position.
The 25-year-old has also been linked with a move to Newcastle United and West Ham.
