Arsenal are eyeing a summer move for Chelsea’s Kenedy but could face competition from the likes of Paris Saint-Germain and Bayern Munich. The Brazilian struggled to make an impact under Antonio Conte at Stamford Bridge having been sent home from last summer’s pre-season tour of China after he made derogatory comments on social media. Kenedy made just five appearances for the champions and none in the Premier League before he joined Newcastle in January where he has played a major role in helping steer Rafa Benitez’s side to safety. The 22-year-old has scored twice and provided a further two assists in just eight games and ESPN claim his performances have alerted several of Europe’s heavyweight clubs.
Arsenal signed the versatile Sead Kolasinac on a free transfer from Schalke last summer but the Bosnia international has faded badly following a bright start and lost his place to Nacho Monreal once Arsene Wenger reverted back to a four-man defence. Monreal turned 32 earlier this year and Wenger is likely to be in the market for left-sided reinforcements in the summer. Chelsea, meanwhile, are expected to undergo major personnel changes in the summer with Conte almost certain to depart and the club still working to tie the likes of Thibaut Courtois and Eden Hazard to new long-term contracts. Kenedy joined Chelsea from Fluminense in a deal worth around £6million in the summer of 2015.
