Jose Mourinho has won his first battle with Arsene Wenger since returning to the Premier League by beating him to the signing of West Brom youngster Isaiah Brown. The 16-year-old made his debut for the Baggies last season against Wigan Athletic but that turned out to be his only appearance despite appearing on the bench several times more.
Arsenal were heavily likened with England youth international but Chelsea managed to see them off to get their man but they now face a tribunal battle. Because of his young age, Chelsea are permitted to pay a compensation package that will decided by the independent tribunal.
Isaiah Brown, better known as Izzy, is a powerful midfielder who is sits in front of the back four but is also lethal in the opposition box. Already predicted for a bright future at both club and country, Izzy’s move to Chelsea will give him the chance to experience a higher level of football with introduction to European football as well as a lucrative salary.
Arsenal are still hopeful of luring fellow West Brom wonderkid Yan Dhanda aswell as Barcelona defender Juan Pleguezuelo, Yaya Sanogo of Auxerre and Aston Villa’s Dan Crowley as they look to add to their depleted youth squad.
