ARSENAL legend Ian Wright has had his say on the Gunners’ top four chances.
However, with the purchase of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and rival teams dropping points, Gunners supporters are beginning to become ever more optimistic of earning a Champions League spot.
Arsene Wenger’s side are now only five points behind fourth-placed Chelsea, who are in the middle of a mid-season crisis following defeats to Bournemouth and Watford.
But Wright does not share the optimism and is much more cautious of their chances of leapfrogging the Blues, although he does hope that he is proven wrong.
“The thing is, Arsenal fans will see how well they played against Everton, and as much as Everton were poor, Arsenal have to get credit for dismantling them as they did,” Wright told Sky Sports’ The Debate.
“And that’s one thing Arsenal can do to you.
“But we have seen that Arsenal also can lose against a Swansea, although a confident Swansea, so you can’t really call it.
“I’m not going to sit here and say Arsenal will finish fourth, but I hope they do.”
Arsenal have a glorious chance to make up the ground when they face Tottenham in the north London derby on Saturday (12.30pm)
Meanwhile, Chelsea will be hoping to extend the cushion when they host West Brom on Monday (8pm).
