Arsenal are interested in signing Juventus defender Daniele Rugani, according to reports.
The Gunners spent the whole January trying to sign a centre back but unavailability of quality options forced the club to shelve the idea until next summer.
The club has already been linked with a number of centre backs, with Napoli’s kalidou Koulibaly and Jonny Evans reportedly high on Wenger’s wish list.
Apparently it does seem the duo are not the only one on Wenger’s radar. The Sun via the Express claims Juventus’ Rugani is also one of Wenger’s summer target.
Arsenal were linked with Rugani in the last two summer transfer windows but Juventus reluctance to sell meant a move didn’t even come close to fruition.
However, the Italians may be more receptive to a move this time around after Rugani failed to establish himself as a regular.
It was thought that the 23 year old would step into the first team to replace Bonucci who left for Milan but he hasn’t been able to do that.
Arsenal are expected to be active in the summer despite the club spending over £100m on two strikers in the last two windows.
It is this show of ambition that we are ready to compete with our rivals that Gooners have been clamouring for and i’m sure most of us are relieved to see the club moving on this path.
