Arsene wenger had been accused of being frugal in the transfer market but the summer of 2013 saw his shattered the club’s record and brought on-board Germany play maker Mesut Ozil from Real Madrid for a record fee of £42.5million.
According to report, Mesut Ozil regrets joining Arsenal and is now looking to returning to the Santiago Bernabeu in furtherance of his career.
After a difficult first couple of seasons, Ozil’s emerged as one of Arsenal’s most important players and Arsene Wenger is desperate for the German to sign a new deal at the club.
Ozil’s current deal will run out in 18 months time but various reports have claimed that he has demanded £250,000-a-week wage but Arsenal are unwilling to meet this bogus wage demand.
However, according to Marca, Ozil never wanted to join the Gunners and has reached out to his former club to tell them he’d happily rejoin them.
Since joining Arsenal in 2013, Ozil has struggled with life at the Emirates, with some section of fans and pundits classifying him as an average player.
Another Arsenal star, Alexis Sanchez, is also in a contract stand-off with the club and, though Arsenal would loathe to lose Ozil, next summer would be their last opportunity to get a big price for the German.
Marca claim Ozil’s currently analysing his options and would happily return to La Liga with Real Madrid, where he spent three years during his first stint.
