Unai Emery has let a number of big names leave Arsenal during his first few weeks of management.
Jack Wilshere and Santi Cazorla are notable midfielders to have left the club this summer.
However, one player he is desperate to hang on to is Aaron Ramsey. The Welshman is still yet to sign a new contract at the club this summer.
A lot has changed at Arsenal in recent months but it appears that the club is still struggling to tie down some players to new contracts.
Joining Ramsey, both Danny Welbeck and Petr Cech are out of contract in twelve months. Yet it’s 27 year-old Ramsey who remains the centre of attention when it comes to contract talk.
“In my opinion, I’ve said to Ivan, Raul and Sven that I think he’s an important player for me,” via Arsenal.com.
Emery was then asked how Ramsey was performing in training amid the doubts over his long-term future.
“I’m very happy with him,” the former Paris Saint-Germain boss went on.
“For me, every day, every training session, he has the ambition I want. He’s working with a quality, the type of ability that I want. I want to work with him.”
“This is one question for the player and for the club,” Emery told the press.
