ARSENAL have reportedly agreed a deal to sign Sevilla star Steven N’Zonzi.
Arsenal are set to splash the cash when the January transfer window opens with the Gunners currently struggling under Arsene Wenger.
The north London side currently sit fifth in the Premier League table after recent setbacks against Manchester United and Southampton.
It means discontent is growing at the Emirates and, in order to turn their season around, Wenger may venture into the market next month.
And Spanish outlet El Gol say Arsenal have agreed a £35m package that would see N’Zonzi make a Premier League return in the New Year.
The midfielder is determined to leave Sevilla with the La Liga giants stuck in a rut.
He previously played in England with Blackburn and Stoke but has rebuilt his career in Spain following a difficult time in England.
El Gol say Arsenal will pay £32.7million to Sevilla with £2.6m coming on bonuses.
However, that would still fall £2.65m of the player’s release clause.
Sevilla president Jose Castro admitted earlier this month that N’Zonzi will be allowed to leave should his release clause be met.
“The coaches do not count on him and we have to respect their work,” he said.
“The games are won with and without N’Zonzi.
“They also said that it was not an irreversible situation. Let’s hope so.
“Sell Steven N’Zonzi? He has two and a half years of contract and a clause of €40m.
“His clause is one of the highest in the club and we will not fight him.”
N’Zonzi has scored seven goals from 90 games since signing for Sevilla from Stoke in 2015.
