All focus has now been shifted to Arsenal’s Premier League game against Swansea but Wenger still has a lot to do in the transfer market front.
According to a shocking report, Arsene Wenger has revealed that he expects Mesut Ozil to score more goals as he demand for a new contract.
The Germany international has been a top performer for the Gunners since he joined from Real Madrid back in 2013, but hasn’t always been the most prolific attacker.
Ozil has already scored nine goals this season – his best ever tally in an Arsenal shirt – but Wenger has suggested he wants more from him if he is to earn the big pay rise he wants.
The former Real Madrid man has been in talks over a new deal for some time, but Arsenal have hesitated in giving him the kind of money he wants.
‘I think what you want of him is to score goals,’ Wenger said of Ozil today.
‘We all feel certainly that there is still a gap there between what he can do. He is moving in the right way but always, from such a talent, you are maybe a little bit unjust because you always want more.
‘You feel there is no limitation in his game and so you always say: “come on give us more” because you always have feeling he can do more.
‘We are all human beings who can improve every day. The problem is that we have to first realise if we want more, how we get more and then after, do it.’
