Sevilla president Jose Castro has issued a hands off warning to Arsenal over France international Steven N’Zonzi amid reports the former Stoke midfielder is a top target for Unai Emery. The new Gunners boss is a fan of the midfielder after their time together in La Liga and he has been toying with the idea of triggering his £36million release clause. N’Zonzi is thought to be open to an exit, but Sevilla chief Castro insists that he is expecting him to stay in Spain. And he confirmed there are no formal offers on the table for the 29-year-old. ‘We want Steven N’Zonzi to come back here, he is our player,’ Castro said.
‘There is nothing else to it and there is no offer.’ Sevilla’s sporting director added that N’Zonzi is due back at the club a day before the English transfer window slams shut. ‘We told him to come here on August 8 at 9am,’ Joaquin Caparros added. ‘He will have to undergo physical tests. Arsenal are not the only club in the hunt for the former Blackburn Rovers man, with Roma and Barcelona both keen on a deal.
