Tottenham are preparing a bid for Everton outcast Ross Barkley.
The Telegraph claim Spurs are ready to offer £20million for the England international, who will be sidelined for the next three months with a hamstring injury.
The report continues to say that negotiations could take place this week, with Spurs paying an initial £20m with a further £8m in performance-related add-ons.
However, Chelsea have been tipped to submit a bid of their own in the coming days and could gazump their London rivals.
Arsenal and Manchester United were previously linked with Barkley, but no firm interest has materialised.
