With the recent transfer market pragmatism we have seen from Arsenal, we are certainly in for pleasant days.
Arsenal completed deals for two La Liga stars last week, Mustafi and Perez, both players have reportedly passed medicals and paper is done with. However, official announcement for the deals will be made tomorrow due to the bank holiday in the UK today.
Arsenal met the £35m valuation of Mustafi and also triggered the £17.1m release clause of Perez, forcing both clubs to sell the players.
Mustafi is due for travel to London after the international break as he will be representing Germany for their friendly game. For his new team mate Perez, he has joined the team in London.
The 27-year-old will host a press conference today to say goodbye to the Valencia fans.
Mustafi, meanwhile, revealed yesterday how Germany team-mate Mesut Ozil helped convince him to join.
He said: “I did not see Per for a long time because he quit international football but I talked to Mesut.
“He told me everything I wanted to know. Everything was positive, so I was convinced very fast. It did not take much.
“I have always loved Arsenal, I like how they play here, it is not typical English.
“The game here is more like in Spain and with the German national team, keeping the ball on the grass, so it was easy to convince me.”
It was also alluded that Wenger told him about his plans for the club and revealed to him that he will continue to be at the club even beyond the expiration of his current contact.
